The hotel is convienetly located in the main area of the city. Walking distance to the lake in Hanoi and the staff is very friendly! I was amazed as well on how clean the rooms were, very well furnished for a very modest price! Definetly recommended for your stay! This is one of the best rising dragon chains cuz there are like 5 more hotels part fo the rising dragon chain.

    Nothing to mention

The hotel is located on the busy "shoe street" in the old quarter. Even so, my room was very quiet. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The best feature is the staff who were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make sure my stay was enjoyable. I will definitely stay there next time I am in Hanoi. For those like me who hate paying for an expensive cab ride to the airport, the Vietnam airlines minibus service costs only $2 usd and is only a 15 min walk around Hoan kiem lake from the hotel.

Only a few small suggestions for improvement: Provide hand towels in addition to the large bath towels. Include Small bottles of water free each day, rather than charging for the small bottles in the mini fridge. Improve Wi-Fi connectivity on the higher floors; it is excellent in the lobby.

Shortly after booking with Rising Dragon, I was promptly contacted by David, the manager of the hotel. He was very attentive right from the beginning. Not only did he arrange for a private car to pick my friend and I up from the airport, he also arranged for our tours in Halong Bay and Sapa. The hotel staff were also first-rate! They learned our names very quickly and provided excellent service. On a few occasions, David even went out of his way to make some reccomendations for us whilst trying to save us money at the same time. We mentioned that we were looking to get a manicure and pedicure and we saw a place near the hotel in passing. David actually called a manicurist to the hotel to help us with these services (and the price was reasonable and substantially cheaper than the spa club down the street). We had a very hectic schedule. In between our tours of Sapa and Halong Bay, we were exhausted and in great need of a place to rest up and shower especially after a long 9-hour train ride from Sapa to Hanoi. David actually went above and beyond and provided us with a room to rest up for a couple of hours before embarking on our tour to Halong Bay (not to mention with complimentary breakfast. side note: the breakfast is awesome:)). All in all, my friend and I were extremely impressed with the service at Rising Dragon Legend Hotel. We highly reccomend this hotel to anyone seeking accomodation in Hanoi! I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at the hotel for making our stay in Hanoi a very enjoyable and wonderful one.

The staff were more than welcoming, attending to our vegetarian and wheat intolerances. Very helpful in advising where to go, trips, taxis. Organisation of trip to Ha Long bay was best ever. Cannot fault this hotel or staff.

This hotel is just the best! I have travelled extensively but never had as warm a welcome as I received at Rising Dragon Legend Hotel in Hanoi. From the time of booking David Trung the manager contacted me by email and he was able to quickly answer any queries so that on arrival there were no worries. He also made arrangements for me to visit Sapa and Halong Bay through their excellent tour service at a really good price. At all times the service of staff exceeded my expectations. Good breakfast and coffee all day.The bed was the most comfortable in VietNam and a laptop is available on request. The location is safe and handy to shopping and Water Puppets. Highly recommended.

The price is good and the location is excelent. Very friendly staff.

We stayed three different nights. The first it was nice. Nice room not too fancy but really adequate for the price. The second time when we came from Halong Bay they moved us for a better room on another hotel. It was really nice because there was a misunderstanding concerning our reservation so it was good that they handled it that way. The third we didn't like that much because when we came from Hoi An for our last night in Hanoi and all we wanted was a quiet room for our last day of vacations in Vietnam they gave us their worst room. Right above the reception with the windows right to the hotel lobby and the window can't be tottally closed so it was really noisy during all day and a bit at night too with the telephone ringing and people walking through the lobby and talking. They really have to change that windows so everybody can have a good night sleep because apart from this room and this experience the rest was good, friendly staff and good value for the rooms.

The hotel is situated at a very strategic location. Near to the lake and shopping street of old quarter in Hanoi. The staffs are friendly. Especially the manager, David, who provide a very good service to us during our stay in Hanoi.

Water heater is poor. We need to wait for 15 mins for next person to take the shower. Worst still, the hot water was running out in middle of shower.

The hotel is very well located, the rooms are very clean and the staff are very attentive and nice. In all very good experience.

Be aware if you want to book a trip through the hotel. Always ask for a detailed pro-forma invoice with a quote for the total price. We used the hotel to book a 2-day trip to Halong Bay and had an unpleasant surprise at the end when we were checking out. The quotation given to us by the hotel prior to the booking was not very clear. It was subject to interpretation and did not include a total price. We ended up having to pay more than expected. This was partially our fault as we should have been more careful.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff (not pushing to sell their tours), very good location in the old town but very quiet, good breakfast

    Nothing.

Excellent service, friendly helpful staff, room was very clean, wifi was fast. Fantastic breakfast with a wide range of options and fastest service ever.

Not very quiet as they were building next door although that is not the hotel's fault. The aircon was noisy at times and the bath was quite small and no shower door or curtain. The room was small, but not too small for the price I guess.

  • Group of friends

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was bountiful. However, beware of their excessive suggestions for tours.Do your homework and know what you would like to do and how much you want to spend so that you can compare wisely with what they have to offer. Our trip booked through the hotel was awesome to Halong Bay. We also were able to store our suitcases in the lobby for the day and they also invited us to use their shower in an extra room.

When we arrived, we were ushered to the dining room for refreshments but it really became a very polite but strong push for their tours. We asked for help Om purchasing train tickets to Sapa, but since we didn't book their hotel package, they said there were no train tickets available. We later bought the train tickets through another travel agency.

Great location, very close to many good restaurants and bar strip on Luong Ngoc Quyen. The staff will go completely out of their way to help you. We stayed one night and then went to Halong Bay for two nights, with an additonal night booked here upon our return and left our large bags there. Unfortunately the room was not able to be held for us so they put us up in their sister hotel, escorting us in a taxi and offering the best room for the same rate as our standard room. Staff happy to help book travel but in no way pushy and will let you know how you can do it yourself if you want to. The Pho at breakfast time was fantastic! Overall it was a fantastic budget option

    nothing

I had really a nice stay at this hotel! The room was nice and clean, staff was kind and helpful, location is great, breakfast was good and price is not high.

I had really a nice stay, so the these are just details: - contrary to the description on Booked.net, superior room does not have a window! fortunately I was contacted by email by the hotel staff a day after I made my booking and they warned me about it so I could change to the deluxe room. - room was a bit small - there was a problem with wifi on my floor in the beginning and the hotel staff didn't know how to fix it, so I just tried to reset router in the corridor myself and it helped. For me it was no problem, but I can imagine that this could be an issue for less technical savvy guests - there was sometime problem with water pressure in the bathroom. this was probably related to the my room was on the top floor.
